Continue the plan beyond landing

The scheduled landing time is not a reliable starting time for onward travel from the terminal. Airport walking routes, entry checks where applicable and baggage collection may come in between. Their duration depends on the journey and circumstances. Do not create a tight onward commitment solely from the arrival time printed in the flight schedule.

Check the actual airport and terminal. Similar city names or a general description such as ‘airport hotel’ are not enough for navigation. Save the full hotel address and compare it with the booking confirmation before planning how to get there.

Choose an understandable transport sequence

Use the airport's and transport operator's official information to establish where your chosen service begins. A station inside the terminal is different from an external stop requiring another transfer. Note the first clear landmark after reaching the public arrivals area rather than relying on a vague instruction to find transport.

Assess the route with your actual luggage. Several changes can make an inexpensive or short journey impractical. Check the final section from the stop to the accommodation too. If you arrange a pickup, its confirmed instructions should clearly explain the meeting point, contact method and handling of a delayed flight.

Include the accommodation's arrangements

Compare expected arrival with the confirmed reception and access conditions. A delayed journey may require a specific arrangement. Inform the property about substantial changes and request clear access instructions when needed. Do not assume a continuously staffed reception or a particular digital check-in system.

Keep only essential tasks in the first hour: arrive, organise luggage and review the next commitment. If you reach the property before the room is available, ask about possible luggage storage separately. A calm, complete arrival plan is more useful than several tightly spaced appointments that depend on ideal processing at the airport.
