Work backwards from the entrance
Begin with the time you need to reach the correct exhibition entrance or your stand. Allow for the walk across the grounds, the journey and the walk to your stop. Only then can you see when you should leave the hotel. Between breakfast opening and that departure, there must still be time to eat and collect your bag. Do not assume you will be seated with a full plate at the exact moment service begins.
Ask about the actual dates
Check breakfast times for the days of your stay. Weekends or special arrangements around an event may differ from an ordinary weekday. Also ask whether reservations or allocated times apply. If you must leave very early, enquire about any alternative offered. A breakfast bag or early coffee only becomes a usable plan once the hotel confirms what is available and how you collect it. Do not assume such arrangements are standard.
Consider use as well as price
Compare the breakfast charge with how often you will use it. If you leave before service on two mornings out of three, a package covering the entire stay may be unsuitable. Check whether individual days can be booked. A bakery along the route may work if its location and opening fit your morning. Do not allocate a tight connection for that stop. Even a brief purchase involves finding the shop and possibly waiting in a queue.
Keep the first morning straightforward
Pack your work bag the night before and set your departure time. This prevents breakfast from becoming a holding area for unfinished tasks. If the first morning proves too tight, deliberately change the remaining days: start earlier, use a confirmed alternative or schedule a break after the first appointment. Eating while standing between the door and the platform should not be the inevitable result of an overly optimistic timetable.
