Explain the actual need
Consider why you need the room for longer. Is it for a confidential call, a break between appointments or simply somewhere to keep a suitcase? Those differences determine which alternative fits. Confirmed luggage storage may solve the bag problem; a call requires a suitable space. Give the property a specific requested time and booking date. An open-ended request for the latest possible checkout leaves it unclear whether the time offered would help you at all.
Understand what has been confirmed
Ask when the hotel can give a firm answer and whether an extra charge applies. Some requests cannot be assessed until you arrive; that does not establish availability. Also clarify whether the agreed time refers to room access, key return or another service. Save any confirmed arrangement. Avoid scheduling an important video meeting in the room while access at that time remains merely a request.
Prepare for an ordinary departure
Pack so that you could leave at the regular checkout time. Choose a concrete alternative for the uncertain period: a separately booked meeting room, an earlier appointment or a free break elsewhere. A lounge is only a useful substitute if its permitted use suits the task. Confidential conversations among other guests require a different setting. Also check the journey from your alternative location to the next fixed commitment.
Settle the question in the morning
Ask about your request in good time instead of discovering the answer just before the standard deadline. If it is declined, packed luggage allows you to move straight to the alternative plan. If the extension is confirmed, keep track of the new time and leave a little space before your next journey. The additional room access should make the day easier rather than leave the onward connection unnecessarily tight.
