Select the complete outfit

Lay out every item required for your most important appointment. Check fit, cleanliness and care instructions before packing. Prefer familiar pieces you have already worn together rather than discovering during the trip whether the shoes and trousers work as a combination. Small accessories belong in the selection too, but keep them away from delicate fabric. A missing belt is easier to notice while laying things out at home than just before a meeting in the hotel.

Fold for the garment's shape and material

Fasten closures where appropriate and place the garment on a clean surface. Fold along natural lines where possible, avoiding unnecessary stacks of thick edges. A jacket needs different treatment from a straightforward T-shirt. Follow the care guidance and use a suitable garment cover you already own if it fits your luggage arrangement. No folding method guarantees a crease-free result for every material; how tightly you pack remains important.

Keep hard objects out of the clothing area

Do not put shoes, power supplies or sharp-edged samples directly on delicate clothing. Pack heavy objects in a separate area so they do not press against fabric during transit. Avoid filling the suitcase so much that closing it compresses the outfit heavily. If the zip only closes with extra force, remove something or rearrange the contents. Reducing the load may help more than adding another layer of wrapping.

Unpack early at the destination

Hang or lay out the important items appropriately on arrival and inspect their condition. If treatment is needed, ask the property about suitable equipment or a service offered. Follow the care instructions rather than using improvised heat sources. Schedule this check for the preceding evening, not while getting dressed. That leaves time to choose another suitable garment if a problem cannot be resolved immediately.
