Clean up the source version first
Before translating, check that the original description is unambiguous. Unexplained abbreviations, changing model names and unclear reference values do not improve when a second language is added. Establish which product version the sheet describes and which details the intended application actually requires.
Separate verifiable features from broad promotional language. If performance applies only under particular conditions, those conditions must remain understandable beside the claim. A shortened translation must not turn a limited possibility into a general promise. Resolve uncertain points with the person responsible for the technical information before moving on to layout.
Compare terminology and numbers deliberately
Create a short list of key product terms and use them consistently. A component should not appear under several apparently different names on the same page. Check numbers, units, decimal notation and table headings separately. These details look familiar and are consequently easy to overlook during ordinary reading.
Make the second language sound natural rather than copying the original sentence order. Information may be reordered as long as meaning and qualifications remain intact. Also check that contact details are understandable for international readers and lead to the person actually responsible for the subject.
Approve both printed versions together
Place the two versions side by side and compare the information line by line. Test the final printout: a longer translation may overflow a field or make important notes too small. Technical and language reviews serve different purposes and should not quietly be treated as the same check.
Record a shared version number and approval date internally. When a value changes later, review both languages. Remove obsolete files from the distribution folder. This makes it clear which sheet belongs with the demonstrated product and which information a visitor takes away after the conversation, even when different colleagues hand out the two versions.
